iSelfBuild 80 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) I bought this bath waste: http://bathsupermarket.com/pop-up-bath-waste-for-traditional-freestanding-bath It's 35mm - does anyone know where I can get a 35mm to 40mm flo plast solvent weld adaptor or a compression fitting? I need to extend the short stub of 35mm chrome waste into a trap under the floor and then boss that in to 40mm solvent weld. I can't seem to find anything online... Thanks! PeterW 4,838 Posted August 1, 2016 So that's because it's probably not designed to be used with plastic ... 35mm is a standard copper size, and I expect they would be looking to use a chrome downstand on it. You can buy short lengths on eBay Try this You'll then need to convert it to a standard size - Floplast do a universal compression fitting that should work
Nickfromwales 3,590 Posted August 1, 2016 That pic shows the tee. Is there a piece that you have that screws into that which leaves you a stub of pipe?
PeterW 4,838 Posted August 1, 2016 I'd go 35-40 first and then do the trap etc in 40... And as @Nickfromwales says, did it not come with a stub of pipe ..?
iSelfBuild 80 Posted August 1, 2016 Yes it came with a short stub of 35mm.
iSelfBuild 80 Posted August 1, 2016 Is this the baby? http://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-wc38-universal-compression-waste-reducer-white-40mm-x-32mm/69077 I see a review mentions they used it for 35mm copper
PeterW 4,838 Posted August 1, 2016 Yep should work - there is a non compression version that just uses a thick rubber gasket but I'm not sure how long that would last ..!
Nickfromwales 3,590 Posted August 1, 2016 If you want to extend the chrome stub Chrome 35mm compression socket I use those plastic reducers but I fit the bent one in the wall so you can't see it. A few options here
